We’re collaborating with Cold Water Queers to offer a meditative ocean dip to celebrate community, our queerness, and nature.
Suggested amount: $15
On July 20 from 6-8 pm, come say hello to Ferry Beach and participate in a guided water meditation + dip. During this offering, we'll connect with our dipping practices and explore rest and slowness as a form of queer liberation. After some guided breathing and gentle movement, we'll ground into our surroundings, and wade into the water together. You don't need any previous meditation experience, all are welcome!
No one will be turned away from this experience but a suggested payment of $15 makes it possible for Kaneel to continue to create these offerings for the community! Venmo @Kaneel
IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION
We welcome all LGBTQ+ beings as well as allies or safe persons.
This event will be held rain or shine. Please follow @coldwaterqueers for updates.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTE
Parking: Starting at 6 pm parking is free. From 3-6 pm it is $5. We’ll be getting started 10-15 minutes after 6 so people can take advantage of the free parking. There are some wheelchair-accessible parking spaces. The parking lot is paved.
Path: To get to the beach from the parking lot you go down a short sandy path between dunes. The sand is loose and fine, beach wheelchairs or access mats are recommended. During this event, we’ll be moving very slowly in the water for most of the offering. There are periods of standing on the beach at the beginning and end, chairs are welcome.
Sensory Activities: Throughout the meditation, participants will be invited to explore the space using their senses of touch, sight, smell, and sound. Participation in any of these activities is not required and can be adapted for those with sensory impairments.
Restrooms: During the summer there are public restrooms with showers.
